"Your Perfect Love"

by Heather Delvecchio

The realization of Your perfect love
Has changed me.
Yet I changed not before.

 An endless hole once devoured
Now overflows with You, Lord.
Yet I feared this before.

 My soul cries out
For years I wasted.
Futile to my purpose,
When I could have had all this!

 Yet I lived in sin
With pain piercing all,
I wanted my right.

 You loved me so much,
And strayed with hate.
But You loved me even still.

 I only cursed You,
In my words, actions, and thoughts.
I deserve not your compassion.

 But it’s not me
That has changed this bitter person,
It’s Your endless love that fills

 For by your mercy,
You’ve saved my soul
Forever I’ll praise Your name!
