How can you use the 5 love languages for God

We are so concerned with making others happy or ourselves happy. Although we are to help others, our first commandment is to “'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment” Matthew 22:37-38 that is what Jesus said we should do. We often think that our works and kindness to others is our only display of our love for God but that is not true. We can display our love for God to God. We need to love God first then others. We cannot give God’s love if we do not have love for God.

“The five love languages” is a book written by Dr. Gary Chapman. He describes five ways in which a person perceives love. This is a wonderful book for couples or singles. It assists in identifying our specific love language. The five love languages are words of affirmation, quality time, acts of service, receives gifts, and physical touch. Dr Gary Chapman’s site is www.fivelovelanguages.com. The site has a test in which to identify a person’s specific love language. Take the time to check out this site it is very interesting.

Now let’s look at ways to make God happy. If we are created in His image, then He wants to have our focus and attention and we need to fulfill His desires. He feels love, joy, peace, happiness, jealousy, hurt, grief, and disappointment. We need to satisfy His desire.

This is a true sign of maturity when we look at our “parent” which is God our father and try to meet His desire not just meeting our own needs. If our focus is on God, our whole life will change. Always attempting to make God’s day better will give our life meaning and purpose. How many of these love languages have you used to satisfy God’s desire for love and attention?
